We’re off to a quick start this year, beginning with Pitti Uomo. The intense weather has us craving for a warm cup of coffee, or at the very least, a solid outer coat in mocha mousse, Pantone’s colour of the year. Maybe you’ve heard the saying ‘once you go brown, the other colours all let you down’. We’re pretty sure it’s about our wools.
When we introduced our Suitably Styled collection last year, we included several fabrics in various shades of brown such as OP2540 Maruja (above), and OP2557 Brick. The lighter shades of brown have always been popular in menswear, with a touch of neutral but still easy to pair with a wide spectrum of other colours. But with more intense colours like mocha, the colour pairings are more specific.

Our range of mocha-hued fabrics come in various materials from wool-blends to pure wools and cottons.
Pastel blues, greens, and violets break away from the deep neutral of brown in a relaxed manner, while mixing lighter and darker browns maintain focus on one core item in your outfit. Even eggshell or gentle beiges are suitable, as well as pinkish-nude variations. However, if you spend a lot of time in the sun or the tanning booth, or if you are worried about blending into the furniture, you may want to opt for a different section of the colour wheel.

How about matcha?
Maybe brown isn’t the right colour for you. In that case, we’ve picked another colour that’s among our favourites to start the year, OP2322 Juniper Bronze. The fresh, moss green wool-blend fabric is a delightful option to refresh the wardrobe with. Green is a reiviving colour both in nature and when worn. It soothes the eyes, recharges the mind, and is easy to pair with most colours.

OP2322 Juniper Bronze is just one of many green fabrics available at Officine Paladino.
However, if lighter greens may be too prominent and draw too much attention, a darker forest green like OP2203 Safari, or a jade-green such as OP2555 Sage gives a good balance between serious and trendy. Odds are, they will match with anything in your existing wardrobe, making a single garment or a suit an easy way to multiply your clothing options.

OP2203 Safari, and OP2555 Sage, are darker green fabrics that add gravity to your look.
Our range of browns and greens run across the Enzo, Cielo, Mondo, Luna, and Eco-Evolution series. From lighter cottons to weather-resistant wools, our fabrics are comfortable and made with quality.
