When Officine Paladino was founded, we weren’t interested in creating fabrics for the sake of novelty. We wanted to solve a problem we knew well.
Like many of our clients, we spend much of our time in transit. Meetings move between cities, weathers change overnight, and tailoring is often expected to do more than simply look good. The frequently proposed solution — performance fabrics — often come with compromises: technical and comfortable, but lacking sophistication.
An Eco-Evolution was conceived as a response to that reality.

Launched in 2022, the collection challenged the idea that performance belonged only in sportswear. We explored how tailoring cloth could adapt to contemporary life, combining natural fibres with practical finishing techniques to create fabrics that resisted creasing, repelled water, breathed in warmer weather, and travelled with ease.
The collection debuted at a time when much of the world was still working from home, and confidence in tailored clothing had yet to fully return. Conventional wisdom suggested that casual dressing would continue its ascent.
Yet, we saw a shift beginning to emerge from our own experience and from conversations with tailors. People were returning to the office, travelling again, and looking for garments that could move seamlessly between business, leisure, and everything in between.
Those conversations, reinforced by the positive response to An Eco-Evolution — confirmed that there was a place for performance in tailoring. Still, there was plenty of room to explore what that could mean, and the latest Eco-Evolution 2.0 is the result of that continued exploration.

Rather than limiting the fabrics to classic suiting, our longtime stylist Marie Lee explored their potential across safari jackets, field jackets, lightweight coats, blousons and relaxed silhouettes.
Familiar qualities have been revisited with fresh designs, while a new generation of super stretch fabrics expands the collection even further.
The original twill remains the collection’s quiet all-rounder: soft to the touch, naturally resilient, crease resistant, water repellent, and suited to year-round wear. Meanwhile, the high-twist plain weave continues to offer crispness and stain repellence, making it an ideal companion for frequent travellers and those who appreciate tailoring that retains its composure throughout the day.
Alongside them, Eco-Evolution 2.0 introduces a new quality that delivers exceptional stretch without relying on elastane. Woven entirely from Super 130s wool, it offers a level of freedom rarely associated with worsted wools, preserving the natural handle, breathability, and elegance that only wool can provide.

When crafted into a garment of your choosing, the result is a piece that can accompany you through a morning meeting, an afternoon flight, and dinner in another city, all in the same day.
Even so, Eco-Evolution 2.0 has never been about making tailoring technical for the sake of technology.
It is about allowing tailoring to keep pace with modern life without losing the qualities that drew us to it in the first place. Comfort without compromise, nor synthetics. Elegance that feels as natural in motion as it does at rest.
That, perhaps, is what evolution should look like.
